Biux filming an employee portrait in Paris

A powerful lever for your employer brand

An employee portrait is a piece to camera, a few immersive shots of day-to-day life in the role and an edit that makes people want to join. In 60 to 90 seconds, a candidate understands what your teams experience better than by reading ten pages of a careers website. It is concrete, human and infinitely more convincing.

For Paris-based SMEs and startups recruiting in a competitive market, this format is a direct way to boost their appeal as an employer. It makes tangible what is hard to put into words: the atmosphere, the pace, the personality of the managers, the real responsibilities of the role.

The impact does not stop at the application stage. Employees who appear on screen naturally share the video on LinkedIn and become brand ambassadors. One shoot, many uses: recruitment, onboarding, careers website, HR events.

Formats designed for LinkedIn and your career site

The employee portrait format is designed for digital from the outset. A short 60- to 90-second format, built-in subtitles, vertical versions for mobile: each video is delivered ready to publish on LinkedIn, Indeed or your careers website, with no further editing.

To make the most of the shoot day, Biux offers batch sessions: several portraits filmed in half a day at your Paris premises. An efficient set-up that limits the impact on your team’s work while maximising the volume of content produced.

This format fits naturally into a broader employer branding video strategy. It can be combined with a long-form employee interview or a corporate film to cover all your communication needs.

Frequently asked questions

How do you put employees who have never been filmed at ease?

Through guided interviews: no lines to learn, questions sent in advance and a natural conversation on camera, from which we keep only the best. Our teams create a relaxed atmosphere — that’s the secret of portraits that ring true.

How many portraits can you shoot in a day?

Three to five, depending on the locations and logistics. We share sets and lighting set-ups to film portraits back to back with no downtime — that is what makes a portrait series so cost-effective.

How are employee portraits used afterwards?

Careers page, LinkedIn posts, recruitment fairs, onboarding new hires: a well-made portrait can be used wherever a candidate wonders “what’s life like at this company?”. It is the basic building block of an employer brand that is credible.

What format and length should a portrait be?

60 to 90 seconds per portrait in 16:9, plus short vertical clips for social media. Short enough to be watched in full, long enough for a personality to come through.

What happens if a filmed employee leaves the company?

We plan for it from the scripting stage: portraits are built around roles and themes rather than the individual alone, and the series spreads the speaking parts across several people. If needed, a single portrait can be replaced without touching the rest of the series.
